I was asked by The Bay to design a tea towel for their designer series, to be produced by Ulster Weavers, who have the Royal Warrant to the Queen.  Bev Hisey and Alanna Cavanagh also produced a design, all of us with a spring theme.

cobblestones and St. Paul de Vence

One of my favourite things about St. Paul-de-Vence, besides the cemetery where Chagall is buried, is the cobblestoned roads with floral motifs. The cobblestones inspired my 'Market' shawl for Spring 2012.

lobsters in Cape Cod

My family and I went to Cape Cod last May expecting to spend our days at the beach, only to find out the temperatures are frigid well into June. We did however catch opening weekend at the flea market, where I picked up this book on lobsters my son found this vintage car. Lobsters are featured in my spring collection.

oil sticks and de Kooning

I found these amazing oil sticks at Pearl Paint, on Canal Street, and tried to replicate de Kooning's colour palette.

The Perfectly Imperfect Home

Today marks the launch of The Perfectly Imperfect Home, written by the supremely talented Domino magazine founder Deborah Needleman. I had the privilege of working with her to illustrate the book at a very fortuitous time (renovating our house and defending my more eclectic style against my husband's minimalism).

reDesign at the Textile Museum

On November 3, 2011, the Textile Museum of Canada will launch a new fundraising event, reDesign 2011 at the Gladstone Hotel. Virginia was asked to contribute to the project where artists, designers and architects reimagine and refurbish identical Louis XVI‐style chairs to be sold at silent auction.

As the Museum’s signature fundraising event, all proceeds from reDesign 2011 support the TMC’s internationally recognized programs and collections. reDesign 2011 will take place on November 3, 2011, 6:30 – 9:00 pm at the Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen Street West, Toronto. Tickets to the event are $100. To purchase tickets, call 416‐599‐5321 extension 2246.
