Bedding!

Here are a few images of our new bedding collection which we launched (finally!) this past weekend at the Atlanta Gift Show. It's been block-printed in India, and we've made quilts, duvet covers, baby sets and much more. It will be available in stores and online in September.

Simple Sewing for Baby

Simple Sewing for Baby by Lotta Jansdotter, has been out for awhile but we can’t stop looking at it. The photos are adorable, the instructions easy to follow, and Lotta’s prints are so much fun! We were excited to see our fabric being used in the book as well. Thanks, Lotta!

A Happy Union

Although Toronto's UNION restaurant is almost a year old, we never get tired of walking by and seeing our underwater print on their chairs. Come to think of it, we never tire of their locally sourced menu, mid day latte pick-me-ups, or the all around friendliness of this place.

our team in India and early morning walk

Here is a photo of Ashwani (l), his business partner, Lourenco (r), and Lourenco's wife. I joined them on their early morning walk through one of Delhi's large parks, lured by the promise of peacocks (look really hard at the top photograph for a bright blue spot in the middle). I showed up in kurta and sandals; of course all the Indians were wearing modern workout gear. I tried to keep up.

a wedding dress

Happy Anniversary Fred! Fred Loudoun-Shand, a very talented textile designer and friend from the UK, got married last spring in a Virginia Johnson dress (green pod ballerina dress from a few seasons back). She flew to New York with her husband-to-be and baby to get married at City Hall. Although ceremonies are now held at the Marriage Bureau, they have a large backdrop set up so people can still get the classic photo of themselves on the front steps. You can see some of Fred's work under the Fred Shand label at Anthropologie.

peacock

Here is some of the art that led to my 'peacock' print for Spring 2010. I didn't want to do a traditional chintz, so I combined a peacock motif with freeform scribbling I did for a calendar project. The scribbling was inspired by an old copy of Lawrence of Arabia that turned up in my grandmother's house. The artist has made the headdress look sort of like lace, but really I think it's just a great image.
